The story begins with our name. epischeOrte is German for "epic places." It's a name that reflects both a journey and a passion for sharing extraordinary destinations with others.
My name is David Fowler — your private Southern Utah guide near Zion. After spending nearly 20 years living in Germany and traveling the world for business, I made the decision to return home to the United States. That journey eventually led me to Southern Utah — a place unlike any I had experienced before.
Over the years, my travels took me to some of the world's most remarkable destinations: Bali, St. Petersburg, Australia's Gold Coast, Dubai, Cape Town, Tokyo, Nikko, Thailand, Guatemala, Iceland, and countless other unforgettable places. Yet despite experiencing many of the world's most celebrated locations, I never found anything quite as captivating as Zion National Park and the stunning landscapes that surround it.
During those travels, I was often shown the highlights that visitors come to see — the famous landmarks, attractions, and must-see destinations. But over time, I realized that the most meaningful experiences often happen beyond the typical tourist itinerary. The real magic comes from experiencing a place the way locals do.
After finding my own little piece of paradise in Southern Utah, I wanted to create something more than a tour company. I wanted to create an experience — a feeling.
At epischeOrte, my goal is to help you step away from the noise, slow down, and connect with the beauty, peace, and wonder of this incredible landscape. Whether it's standing in awe of towering sandstone cliffs, discovering hidden viewpoints, or simply listening to the silence of the desert, these moments have a way of staying with you long after your visit ends.

Colorado City and Hildale are known for many things — but locals have always had their own name for this place: "The Crick." Nestled on the Utah and Arizona border, we want to show you why.
This area carries a fascinating and unique history, shaped by fundamentalist religious beliefs and practices unlike anywhere else. Once you visit and see it for yourself, it is something that stays with you long after you leave.
Beyond the history, the surrounding canyons of "The Crick" are truly something to behold — dramatic landscapes that open up in ways that take your breath away.
